The G915 Lightspeed is Logitech’s latest and probably most technologically advanced keyboard to hit the market. With that being said, let’s jump into the review by first taking a look at some of the keyboard’s features and specs! Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED Specifications For those of you familiar with some of the basics of mechanical keyboards, these are probably most comparable to your classic Blue switch type. In this review, we’ll be looking at the “Clicky” version which features GL Clicky keys. Oh, and don’t forget you get all that in an ultra-slim package that also features low profile key switches! Other features such as full RGB lighting support, G-Hub software integration, dedicated macro keys, and awesome battery life are also some of the major highlights of the G915 LIGHTSPEED. Probably one of the more noteworthy features which we’ll dive into later in greater detail, is the LIGHTSPEED Wireless technology which provides an ultra low latency connection to the keyboard from the receiver dongle. They are engineered with extreme durability and responsiveness in mind to provide the best gaming experience overall. The 9-series keyboards which are apart of Logitech’s “G” series lineup and geared towards serious gamers such as e-sports players, and PC enthusiasts who demand the absolute best. Today, we’re taking a deep look into Logitech’s latest offerings, the Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED mechanical gaming keyboard, which is considered to be one of Logitech’s best offerings. These use a laser to determine when a key switch reaches the bottom of the key stroke. We’ve reviewed a ton of keyboards here on GND-Tech, but none quite like this one. A relatively newer option that is still uncommon are laser key switches. Laptops commonly use the inferior scissor switches, and cheaper keyboards often use rubber dome switches that are similar to soft or mushy tactile key switches. This is an Amazon Associates Link which will provide additional revenue to this website.Īt this time, mechanical keyboards are the superior option. But I can understand if you are saving your money to purchase one of those expensive, premium keyboards.Ĭlick this link to go to an Amazon listing for mechanical key switch testers. If you have an extra $20 to spend, I would suggest purchasing a key switch tester off Amazon to be sure you know the type of key switch you would like to use. Some might be fond of that sound and the harder click when pressing a key, similar to pressing the top of a pen, but I’d much rather have a keyboard with tactile switches instead. While I have used a clicky keyboard at a friend’s house, I felt the noise coming off when typing would be too much for myself and my family when writing articles or papers for school. This is the perfect middle ground between typing and gaming because there is a light click to let you know the key registered, and other keys do not accidentally register if your finger barely touches them. I returned my linear keyboard and purchased a tactile keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches. Typing would always cause massive spelling errors if I simply brushed against another key. This might be useful for a quick response in gaming, but it is terrible when using the keyboard for anything else. Linear keys were my first option because various tech YouTubers promoted Cherry MX Red switches, and linear key switches in general, to quickly register a key stroke when gaming. Other options might reduce the sound of a key stroke. There may be different versions of linear of tactile from the same company, but that often means the distance the key must travel before reaching the bottom (bottoming out) and registering the key stroke.
